In the past, there was a lack of a universal, uniform, and reliable method to clearly classify and define vaginal prolapses. Now the POP-Q (Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification) system is available to fill this gap. It is the most widely used clinical instrument to determine the status and severity of prolapse symptoms, as well as to measure the success of conservative and surgical interventions.
This easy-to-use measuring instrument is indispensable for reliable execution of a POP-Q examination.
Until now, cotton swabs, sticks, spatulas, or fingers were often used as improvised tools, making measurements cumbersome and inaccurate. With the P.O.P.s. measuring rod, such an instrument is now available.
